I absolutely agree and the paid version is even "more better". But I
didn't really want to tell someone who is trying to work a problem like
this out, "By the way, the tool you bought really sucks." He can still
get what he wants from Symantec's tool, he'll just have to be more
patient.<g> Also, Diskeeper Lite is the defragmenting tool built in to
2000/XP so you don't even have to download it for those systems.

However, I should add that the OS feature formerly called SAGE (System
Agent) is now part of MS' disk cleanup tool. It does an excellent job of
optimizing file location on a disk and, if you really want to go for
this type of optimization, it is probably the tool of preference for
that job. It won't defrag but it will locate.

And I just realized we are way OT here. Humble apologies to the group!
