Hal, Thanks for the opinion. I guess it's something I'll end up trying both ways. I've been running it at the end of the disk the last couple of days. It doesn't seem any faster, but I don't seem to be getting those occasional pauses when opening a folder, marking a message read, etc. Maybe those pauses were a function of fragmentation. ........Peter > > > Peter, > > I would go for at end of disk.
