I will try the shrink to fit suggestion. That would never have occurred to me on my own. I recreated the template already and still get the error. The printer drivers are the same for several systems that print to the same printer without incident. I plan to un/re install those on this particular system when the productivity folks go home at the end of the day. When the error crops up again, I'll get the details. The only other thing I haven't done is try the same process on a different computer. It should tell you what kind of fault (invalid page fault, etc.) and in what file and what module the error is happening...without these details, windword.exe errors can't be troubleshot.
