Because the rest of the process looks for it in the Master and won't
process any record contained therein.

Hi Glenda,

Why does the record need to be deleted from the master table?

In one of my applications I use a list box with text boxes at the top of
the columns. The text boxes act as filters so as I type the sql
retrieving the data is altered and the list changes. Over a couple of
thousand records there is neglible time in repainting the listbox. This
means I can have sort of multiple criteria like all records begining
with M in the name field over a date range referencing a specific
printer.

Is that something like what you are looking for?
