Glenda- Usually, when you are unable to update a record that is based on a query, Access cannot decide which part of the 'many' relationship to update. If you could post the SQL statement of the query I mgith be able to help more. -Anthony -----Original Message----- From: Glenda Wells To: 'mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Sent: 5/24/2002 2:20 PM Subject: [mso] Access Hi All Access Guru's. I need a bit of help thinking this through... I have a database of persons & information in several tables. I need to maintain information about these persons but not include the information in the database. I created a separate table called tblLocal to hold the information not in the regular database. This is a many table. Via query, I can link tblLocal with the database by a unique identifier number. Someone doing data entry would not necessarily know the unique identifier number. tblLocal does not hold person names, just information & the unique identifier number. with tblLocal linked with the names table in the database in a query, tblLocal does not appear to be updateable. What do I need to do differently in order to make tblLocal updateable? ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
