I want to mount a model on to a large piece of white/grey marble I need to
know the method used to drill it and also what to use to fill some holes in
the wrong position so that it will look unblemished

Sorry if this one is off topic too much. If it is tell me to get lost.
Has any one any experience in putitng small holes through quartz? I've a
daughter rather hoping I can drill through a piece of ametrine nearly 1cm
thick so she can have a pendant. I'm thinking in terms of emigrating but if
that doesn't work then diamond drills to be bought at Donington and lots of
spit as lubricant but thoughts welcome.
