The XS does have a finger snap. I never did own an ES because I used to be
a Korg guy and the Karma was my main board. However, I was able to kick the
addiction, and and have successfully switched to Yamaha. I'm loving it.
The XS is truly amazing. Yamaha put out 3 sets of free samples for the XS,
and an additional set of drums, also free. These are part of the XSpand
your world program. There are also some great collections out there for the
XS, but they cost money. The brass in those collections are great. My
Latin tracks never sounded this good!

I played with an xs at gc, i must say the acoustic guitar is awesome, all
the different variations... I have to agree with Jose though, there were
some patches in my old psr2k that i miss, and they weren't included in the
higher end workstation. I guess it's expected since each category of
instruments has their own library to pull from i guess, but thing like the
live nylon guitar, the galaxy EP, and evn some of the pads and choir voices
were better in the 2k, i can only imagine how much better they've gotten on
he 3k or the new s910 and such. I was amazed for example that no where in my
es drum kits could i find a finger snap! I mean for a workstation geared
towards hip hop, R&B and all sorts of other genres, this minor detail was
very strange not to have. But maybe when i get enough money i'll buy me an
PSR s910 just for the sound, and for the portability of taking it to
practices and small gigs...
BTW, other than the voices that come in the sample cd with the ES, did
Yamaha ever release any more *free* voices for the ES?

I feel that the guitars in the es were somewhat warmer than the ones in the
xs.

I certainly do miss the Hawaiian guitar from my PSR 3K which I also sold to
raise money for the XS. The XS sure doesn't have that nice Hawaiian guitar
from the PSR line.

Actually looking for a good pedal steel or Hawaiian guitar sound. Don't like
the pedal steel on motif. I must say the guitar sounds on the psr and tyros
keyboards are a bit better in my uneducated opinion. Unfortunately I had to
cell my s900 when I got motif.
