In any event, I think that Stan's point was that Bush doesn't > really rely on God for guidance, and is at best a hypocrite. > Unless you're talking about St. Francis of Assisi, it goes without saying that everyone in a specific group sees God in the same basic way. Bush is a member of a specific group. I think implicit in criticizing Bush and allowing other groups off the hook for doing the same thing is a notion that God, fate, really does intercede. Using once again the case of the Israelis, no doubt the Israelis have convinced themselves that God led them to the promised land for them to throw out the Palestinians and take the land for themselves. Everyone believes God loves them and is on their side. Examples of when groups feel God is on the other guy's side would be appreciated. Personally, I think Bush really does believe in God's help. How he feels now that God let him down is anybody's guess. He also happens to be an angry person who, I believe, doesn't like the country, but that's nothing to do with his belief in God.
