I LOVE LUCY
Deep in her heart there was a part
of Lucy that was vicious.
But good-hearted Charlie
was never suspicious
whenever she offered to hold
the ball for him to kick,
even though all their history foretold
that it would end in a trick --
again.
If I had to choose between Charlie and Lucy
which would be my friend,
I'd go with Lucy every time
for the thing that makes life most interesting
is not goodness,
it's crime.
