I think the point is more that you have maintained that "rich" people pay
little or no taxes. Evidently, the fact is that the top 50% pay 97% of
taxes. So.... whenever someone votes in a new 'helpful' scheme, it's the
higher earners who are ALREADY paying for it and will now have to pay more.
Therefore, it damned well IS their right to complain about it because they
are literally subsidizing half the population.

More and more, I'm getting dinged for more and more things that I don't use
and for MORE than just my share of things that I DO use, but no more than
anyone else.

I have to pay additional levies for my: sewer, water, garbage, snow
removal, school taxes etc. ALL of which used to be covered in my property
taxes. My property taxes have NOT gone down, and have in fact risen a bit.
I have to pay to have my car license renewed, my driver's license renewed,
tire tax. Plus on top of all these 'bills" the government gets an
additional 15% for Sales tax. I wonder WHAT my income and property taxes
are being used for. It's certainly not the things that I would expect them
to be used for.

Just last year my government decided they wanted more from me so they put
an additional "health" tax on my paycheque. It was directly proportional to
how much one earns. Well, now, I'm 700 bucks poorer each year. I don't get
ONE thing more for my money because as a healthy, middle-aged person, I
don't use the system now. I object to that, but I can't do anything about
it. But, when my government wants more money, I KNOW that it's ME who is
going to have to pay for it. It's NOT people who don't earn very much money
-- i.e. the bottom 50% of wage earners. Sue me for wanting to keep as much
money as I can. You could probably win the suit in this day and age.
