I tried a Google search -- following McCreery's advice to Geary -- for the exact collocation of what I thought was a line of Donne's poetry: "The man without a navel lives in me" Google came up with the question: "Did you mean, 'the man without a NOVEL lives in me'" I presume that's Borges -- the man without a novel -- so I guess Google is again right.
