This is getting a bit off topic for the subject line, but ..

I dont think we are intentionally making it dificult for windows users, to help 
out with development, but its so much more hard effort when 
windows provides you with so little to begin with.

A while back a mixture of existing tools with scons was suggested to be a more 
cross platform build system, but no one has followed it up as of 
yet.

Michael, would you be intrested in looking into this?
