The blur is done separately afterwards. Until I get a nonlinear interpolation option working, I leave blurring up to the user. There are different ways to blur and I don't want to impose a particular method on people.
Carl: Flat areas... topmost and bottommost terraces remain flat since there is no interpolation reference. You may want to verify that Global Mapper's flat regions have the same cause.
