Hi all,
I just developed the film (ilford) and it came out perfect (all in
flash A mode)!!! Even the snaps taken with bounced flash were correct
(in case of my Metz 45 CL-1, I had to compensate in case of indirect
flash by one stop).
So the SCA 3xxx does not interfere with the flash`s own automatic
mode. This was also my experience with My SB28 on Nikon Fm2 (flash set
to A).
Of course, if flash is set to TTL mode and used on R3, the flash
would always fire with full power, waiting for the camera to cut it
off. (but this of course would not happen with a non TTL camera / or
wrong camera for the given SCA in case of Metz).

Hi, Douglas,
I will report my results this very evening after I get my first
B&W test roll developed...
But so far, playing with the flash in A mode, I could detect
without a doubt that the flash light outpus varies with the
distance / aperture / bounce /....

Hi, Miha,
I think it will actually be proved who is right when you get
the flash shots developed and printed - I have a slight
suspicion that the SCA 3102 may cut out the sensor in the
flash because it's expecting SCA compatibility and TTL
metering. That the flash is triggered is one thing - whether
it is emitting the correct amount of light is quite another.

thanks for your input. It has always been basics for me
(except for the short venture with my F90x and
SB28). Metz
flashes have extremely good thristors. They give
you more
reliable exsposures than primitve TTL cameras (like
my Nikon
FA, or a Leica R5 I guess).
