That's what I thought - the central pin does it for you
Good!
Now when shall we see some scans?

Hi all,
I just developed the film (ilford) and it came out perfect (all in flash A mode)!!! Even the snaps taken with bounced flash were correct (in case of my Metz 45 CL-1, I had to compensate in case of indirect flash by one stop). So the SCA 3xxx does not interfere with the flash`s own automatic mode. This was also my experience with My SB28 on Nikon Fm2 (flash set to A). Of course, if flash is set to TTL mode and used on R3, the flash would always fire with full power, waiting for the camera to cut it off. (but this of course would not happen with a non TTL camera / or wrong camera for the given SCA in case of Metz). I win :-)) Best regards,
Miha

    Hi, Douglas,
I will report my results this very evening after I get my first
    B&W test roll developed...
But so far, playing with the flash in A mode, I could detect
without a doubt that the flash light outpus varies with the
    distance / aperture / bounce /....
Best regards,
    Miha

        Hi, Miha,

I think it will actually be proved who is right when you get
the flash shots developed and printed - I have a slight
suspicion that the SCA 3102 may cut out the sensor in the
flash because it's expecting SCA compatibility and TTL
metering. That the flash is triggered is one thing - whether
it is emitting the correct amount of light is quite another.

        Cheers
Douglas - hoping it does work for you

             /Dear Mr. Golobic,/
/Many thanks for your e-mail enquiry of 07. Jan. 2009./
/The mentioned flash unit mecablitz 32 MZ-3 also can be
used in connection with the camera Leica R3. For this we
recommend to equip the flash unit with the centre contact
foot 301. The adapter SCA 3102 can't be used with the
afore-mentioned camera. With this adapter the flash unit
            can't be triggered./

            with best regards/

               Hi all,
I got the Metz today and it feels great atop my R3!
                   Thanks again,

                   Hi Douglas,

thanks for your input. It has always been basics for me
(except for the short venture with my F90x and
            SB28). Metz
flashes have extremely good thristors. They give
            you more
reliable exsposures than primitve TTL cameras (like
            my Nikon
                   FA, or a Leica R5 I guess).

                   Hi Philippe,

thanks for your experience with the SCA 3501. And
            with the A

                           Dear members,
                                           I have a chance to buy a
Metz 32-MZ3 with the SCA 3102
(Canon EOS) adapter for almost nothing.
            This Metz also
operates in A mode (I have been using A
            mode on my
Metz 45-CL1 exclusively, but this flash
            unit is very
                           cumbersome).
Can someone tell me If my
            R3 will trigger the flash
                           with the SCA 3102 mounted?
                                           Thank You,
                                           Miha
