Hi there,I've checked out both XP machines (one laptop and one desktop) and found that UPS only exists in desktop. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers, Joseph

hi Joseph.
apologies for my negligence.checking power options on my laptop reveal among others power
schemes, alarm
battery status, advance, but nothing to the effect of UPS.Is it hidden or what? and if it's hidden, how to unhide it? i
need to know
it as i find it a cool feature in the event of power disruption
which is
rather common in my neighbourhood. thanks for sharing. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joseph Lee" <joseph.lee22590@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2007 12:31 AM Subject: Re: stand by and Jaws
Hi there,You've just wrote to the wrong person (lol). I'm not Steve (I'm
Joseph).
Go to Start/Control Panel/Power Options. From here,
instructions differs
between XP and Vista:If you are using XP, go to UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply)
TAB and
choose your option there. I'm not sure how to do it though
because it's
been months since I've tampered with it.Under Vista, you have to select a Power Plan and select Change
Power
Settings and configure it from there. Cheers,Joseph P.S. Do someone do a podcast on Power Options under XP
and Vista
with JAWS?

Hi Golden, Yes. You go to Control Panel/Power Options and set it there. By the way, UPS (in this context) stands for UninterruptablePower Supply.Cheers, Joseph

Hi friends, I use JAWS 7.0 and have no problems when I come outofhibernation or standby mode. Personall, I prefer to hibernatemy systemifI must as oppose to standby. My UPS hibernates my computer ifever thereissome disturbance of power and i like that because i can pick upwhere ileft off when my computer boots up again. hi, hibernate is mostly been use for laptop, this is to safebattery.standbyjust to turn some devices into standby mode and it is notshuts down the computer. hibernate will keep all your currenttask inthememory and turn off the laptop, when you return, you willbe bring back to where you stop previously.
hope this helps.

No, I wish to use stand by instead of turning off my system andtherefore,it's important to find a solution to that problem that Jawsis running as demo after I'm coming back from stand by position. I do know that when I restart my PC, all is right and Jaws is workingproperly, not as demo.
Any other help please.
