See if they apply to JAWS 11. sleep mode instructions Query. Have Jaws 9 and need to put Jaws a sleep for an audio game I'm playing but I did this ages ago and cannot remember the instructions to do so, can anyone here help me please? Tom Lang, the permanent method. 1. Start the audio game. 2. Press insert plus the 6 key on the number row, not the numeric pad. This takes you straight into configuration manager. 3. JAWS may want to create a new configuration file whose name corresponds to that of the audio game's executable. Go ahead and do that. 4. Press alt+s to open the Set Options menu. 5. Open Advanced Options. 6. The first thing you'll land on is a checkbox called "enable sleep mode". Check that by pressing the space bar, then press enter. 7. Press ctrl+s to save the configuration file, then press alt+f4 to exit configuration manager. No more double-speech. JAWS should go into sleep mode every time you start the game. Dave Durber, the temporary method. Press INSERT+CTRL+S to open the "Select a Synthesizer" dialog. Press the letter "N" to select the "No Speech Synthesizer". Press ENTER to accept your choice and close the dialog. You can now play your game without JAWS speaking. When you want to have JAWS speak again, Press INSERT+CTRL+S to open the "select a Synthesizer" dialog. Press the Letter "E" to select Eloquence, if that is the synthesizer you want to use. Press ENTER to accept your choice and close the dialog. After a few seconds you will hear JAWS speak again. _____ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim L Sent: Friday, August 13, 2010 6:47 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: sleep mode and Jaws 11 Heya folks, I have an audio game that I need to put Jaws 11 in sleep mode for, can anyone help me with the step by step instructions please?
