Hi group, I guess I am an Athlon fan. I would suspect that the motherboard will make a lot of difference. A duel bus motherboard will buy you a lot in performance. The Athlon 2.4 or above should do very good. I have a Vulcan processor fan and have not had any overheating problems. As I mentioned to David, look at tigerdirect.com for some comparison pricing.
