3.6, yes, that's a lot of power and a big difference in range from 2.0.  I
wonder how low you could have gone on the high end without seeing a
performance drop.  It is true that the higher you go the better the pc will
perform on a winde array of simultanious functions, but how and where is
jaws effected.  A lot of this must b etheoretical but a lot of light has
been shed on it in this discussion for which I am appreciative.

To try and answer your comparison question.

I have two machines. One has a 2.0 Gig Intel processor and 512 Mb RAM
with a 64 Mb G-Force-2 video card and the other machine is a pre-built
Sony with a 3.06 Gig HT Intel processor, 512 Mb ddr RAM with a G-Force-4
128 Mb RAM video card.

In my perception, using JfW 5.0 in everyday work, the faster machine
handles multiple operations faster and more smoothly and JfW works much
more responsively. For the price comparisons, well Hmmm, I should have
saved my cash!
