Hi, contacting the school and another couple of ones there that I'd settle for
is something I plan to do soon. Thanks for your note.

  Jamie,

Have you contacted the school in Oklahoma that you want to go to and find
out if they have any special scholarships or work/study programs for you?
Sometimes they do. I know of people who have been given chances to go to
schools like Harvard who did not have the resources just because that school
wanted to achieve diversity. maybe this college would think that with your
vision issue, you would bring diversity and a different perspective to this
campus.

Hey, I'm still considering these options you mentioned. I'm already 38 and
I'm not sure about tying up four more years of the state and then maybe not
being marketable and never being any closer to Bible college. I want to go to
a particular school but am willing to settle for another one, but I had hoped I
could have paid my way to go to a school in Oklahoma that I've always wanted to
go to but never made enough money to save up. I'm not totally dismissing the
ideas you've pointed out, though. Thanks for taking time to suggest this to
me. Have a blessed day.

      Hey Jamie,

If you live in a college town, have you considered going to that college?
You could start by taking some courses, get all the requirements out of the
way and maybe get some kind of job. Then you could look around for missionary
work or peace corps or some church opportunities. Colleges (even secular ones)
often have opportunities come their way.

Hi, I'm not sure rehab pays for Bible college and I'm not sure what
degree I'd get from a regular secular public college. I do live in a college
town so if I found what degree to get, we might have something there. The new
rehab counselor does seem nice. Have a blessed day.

          Jamie,

I am glad you are working with a rehab counselor. Can't that person
help you if you want to go to college? Often rehab will help pay for college.
Another resource for you is Dialogue with the Blind Magazine. There is a lot
of career information in this magazine.

Hi, Mary, my new rehab counselor sent me the afb website. Thanks
for recommending it too as it seems very interesting at first check. Thanks
and have a blessed day.

              Hey, Jamie,
You can contact the AFB Career Connect and they can tell you
which people are working and using Jaws and you an e-mail them and find out
about their jobs.

Hi, on the subject of jaws and jobs, are there any of you out
there who do 911 dispatching or other dispatching either on site or at home?
What other away from home jobs are being done with jaws today? I know teachers
and social workers and programmers and transcriptionists and legal workers, but
what else? Thanks and have a blessed day.
