Hi Jerry,

Many thanks. I have read the help in jfw and find it interesting.

Also, thanks for the example of how the meaning is displayed.

If you open the Jaws help menu, help topics and then open "popular
applications with Jaws", you can find some things about it. It comes on
a CD.

Basically you start typing the word you want to look up. Then you can
tab to something like a dictionary page and can arrow through similarly
spelled words, then tab to a thorough definition. For example,
ni·tion (defÅÃ nishÆÃn), n.

1. the act of defining or making definite, distinct, or clear.

2. the formal statement of the meaning or significance of a word,
phrase, etc.

3. the condition of being definite, distinct, or clearly outlined.

4. Optics. sharpness of the image formed by an optical system.

5. Radio and Television. the accuracy of sound or picture reproduction.

Hi Jerry,

Do you have an URL from where I can buy it? Also, can I do a word
search in the dictionary?

I use Websters Unabridged 3.0. It's not interactive like Word Web,
but
with a hot key, that's easy to get used to. It's among "popular
applications with Jaws" in the Jaws help menu and costs about
$30. The
advertising on online dictionary was driving me nuts.

Hi all,

Does any one know of any accessible dictionaries? I have tried the
Houghton Mifflin eReference from www.dictionary.com. The navigation
is a pain since there seems to have been usage of controls in very
nonstandard ways.

Is there any dictionary that is more accessible? Wordweb is out since
it is not comprehensive.
