I went online and read the promotional material. Sounds interesting and helpful in many ways, but as it says nothing about etymology (I brightened when I came upon the phrase "word history," thinking it might be a simplified way for them to say "etymology," but that turned out to be like a browser history), the niftiness of the other capabilities pale in their attraction, at least for me. Oh, well. Thanks for the suggestion. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Francis Daniels" <fdaniels@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2005 8:21 AM Subject: Re: Seeking accessible offline dictionaries Pranav, The Ultimate Talking Dictionary is really nice. It is from Premier Assistive Technology, and costs $39.95 USD. Here'e the link for details: http://www.premier-programming.com/UTD/utd.htm. I got one and it is quite nice. It is stand-alone, meaning it installs on your computr and you can use it whenever you need it.
