In both outlook express and Outlook, if you want to go to another folder, there is a "go to" command that you must press. It is control Y.
I also notice at least in outlook 2003 which is what I have, that the messages in said folders (whichever they are) are arranged with the newest ones on top; that is, the ones with the current dates and/or times are the first ones you get to when you are in any folder.
