Yes. My guess is that he has Norton Antivirus installed on the machine and that the Office Plug-in is enabled and needs to be turned off. To do that, you have to go into Norton's main screen, then go into Options with an alt+o. Here's where it gets tricky, because it involves extensive use of the JAWS cursor. Use the JAWS cursor to locate Miscellaneous and do a left-click to invoke that settings page. Then, locate the line item that reads: Enable Office Plug-in. Place the JAWS cursor on the first E in Enable and do another left-click. This should turn it off. Click OK and exit out. It's been a while since I've had to do that on my system as well as anyone else's so my recollection isn't exactly clear, but you get the idea. It's kind of a pain in the patoot to do, but once it's done, everything should work normally. If my instructions need any clarification, I can send you a detailed write-up that I've stored somewhere.
