I think that computer was sufficiently rebooted today. In fact I wanted to drop kick it out of the window, but we were on the first floor and it probably wouldn't have helped a bit. LOL

There have been times when I've seen a similar thing with Jaws 11 and 12.
I'm thinking it had to do with the presence of comments in the document I
was trying to read.

Try checking to see if track changes is turned on. If it is, turn it off and
see what you get.

If you have an earlier version of Jaws, say 9 or 10, try reading the
document with an earlier version.

Kimberly,

Great minds think alike. I tried that too.

Subject: JAWS not reading any text

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone on here has a troubleshooting idea that I haven't
tried already. It is a computer with Win7 64 bit. The problem is the
same with both JAWS 11 and 12. I have updated the video drivers and
made trial adjustments to the screen resolution. No change. In any
word processing application, in this case Word 2007 and Word Pad have
been tried, JAWS won't read the text for editing. It will say Blank if
in JAWS 11, but JAWS 12 just says nothing in response to any text editing.
This is true with web pages too. The title bar will read, Windows
Explorer screen is read. And I even opened a PDF that read. But I get
no links announced on a web page either. So, has anyone got any other
suggestions? I will resort to calling FreedomScientific tech support
next week when I'm on the system again, if no one here has any ideas.
I feel fresh out of them. I'm sure I'm in a box and forgetting to check
something important.
Thanks in advance for any ideas and suggestions.
