Despite of the fact that I use Talks, I have to say that MobileSpeak supports many types of synthesizers: phonix, Acapella, Nextop, loquendo, etc. For example, it supports the best Russian synthesizer ever made, Katerina. Also, Mobilespeak has a Croatian, Check and other Middle European synthesizers.

Well, mostly it comes down to web browsing. Talks now has support for webPages that it the same as on the pc using jaws or window eyes. For example, if I go out to a site on my phone using talks, it will say something like
"page has 2 frames, 1 heading and 57 links"
which we all know is what jaws says on the pc. Mobile speak, at least the version I have, does not do this. There other factors as well, but I just prefer Talks, and one of the big reasons why I like Talks over mobile speak is that Talks uses the eloquence speech synthesizer, where Mobile Speak uses Dectalk, which doesn't sound all that great on a phone to me.

Hi James

Could you perhaps be more precise about your comment: "technically speaking
Talks is ahead of Mobile Speak"?

Thanks.

Talks is like Jaws in its support of the web, its speech synthesizer, and lots of other things. At the moment, technically speaking Talks is ahead of
Mobile Speak in terms of features.

Hi List

Perhaps I want to make a strange comparison, but still - just maybe
somebody
says something that will make it easier for me to make up my mind.

I am using the latest version of Jaws.

I am in the process of trying to make up my mind which software
(Talks/Mobile Speak) to buy to make my cell phone accessible.

It was put to me that Talks and Mobile Speak are like Jaws or Windows
Eyes -
both doing the same thing; it is just a matter of choice and preference.

Any comment, suggestion and recommendation will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Kind regards.

Renette
