Hello Patricia, I would check out the following web site for information on Work At Home Businesses and a list of companies that have been already checked out. clarkhoward.com He is a consumer advocate and has a National radio program that addresses consumer issues. Also in order to become a agent for some of these types of companies you are required to be registered as an LLc and have a specific kind of computer. Additionally, you will have to go through a screening process which will be a cost that you will have to pay. This cost should be no more than $35.00. There is a lengthy application and testing process that you will be required to complete in order to qualify. As to whether or not JAWS will work with their software I cannot say for sure and you will have to find this out. ----- Original Message ----- From: Patricia Davis To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2008 1:03 PM Subject: Re: Employment Charles, I've actually been in contact with an employee of Arise. She is sighted though. She knows nothing about JAWS or scripts. She has been the one encouraging me to apply. So, based on what I've been told and what I've seen, this company is not a scam. Believe me, if I weren't in contact with this person, I would never have applied for this job. Furthermore one has to be careful about these work from home jobs. Many have turned out to be scams or do not deliver what they advertise. Not too long ago, there was an article I read in the newspaper about this company. They are based in Arizona, and the article said that they cater to disabled workers. The man in the article was blind, and he worked for this company. I don't understand why you received that response. I don't think this is the right venue for my question/request but I'm going to post the question anyway in the hopes that someone can point me in the right direction. I have been looking for a job and came across this company called Arise (Arise.com), a home-based customer service type company. I haven't even finished the admissions process and they have already dismissed me. The response I got was as follows: Thank you for your email. Right now we do not have any applications scripted for Jaws. If one becomes available I will be glad to let you know. Best Regards, Regine Janvier Admissions Specialist Can anyone tell me what scripting is and how complicated it might be to get a company like Arise to do this? If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Sincerely, Patty Davis
