John,
You were super helpful!
An item in Display changed and I did not know it even thoughI had checked
twice!
Were you able to modify the stupid Desk top color or what did you modify
in XP Modified?

I ask this as F S Tech Support are adamant that people use
Windows Classic theme under Control Panel Display which gives a back ground
color that reduces contrast for some people.
You surely were great help!
