Thanks so much for that Tim. Sorry it's taken ages to find the message, let
alone respond, as with this being messed up, haven't been able to keep track
of new messages, but service is getting back to normal now.

Jillian,

I use Outlook 2000, and this occasionally happens to me too. What I usually
do is as follows:

With the cursor on the list of messages in your inbox, hit alt-V to go into
the view menu, click on 'current view' then assuming the 'Messages' view is
checked, click on 'customize current view'.

Within the dialogue box that comes up, you will find a button labled
'Sort...'. Click on this, and you will land on a combo-box or drop down
list telling you what the folder is being sorted by. It should say
'received', which means the date on which the message was received. If it
doesn't, arrow up and down until it does. Next hit tab, which should land
you on a radio button which either says 'ascending' or 'descending' this is
how you tell Outlook whether you want the latest entry to appear first in
your folder, or whether you want things listed in date order. Select
'ascending' for oldest first. Then click OK.

Regards,

Tim Pennick

  Hi.

Firstly happy new year to all.

My main problem is that outlook appears to have flipped on me. It's the
version that comes with Office 2000. I like the in-box to be displaying the
oldest messages first, with new messages coming in underneath. I have had
no problems till now. when I opened it this time round, it's put all my
messages into alphabetical order, so all those with names beginning with A
are at the top and so on. I can't work out why this has happened. I've
tried changing it back, but haven't been successful. I don't understand all
the various fields in the customization part on the current view sub-menu.

Secondly, can you add extra folders to the Outlook settings? Example, I
have a friend who mails me a lot, and I'd like to keep all of his messages
in a separate folder to the inbox.

I use Windows 98 SE and Jaws 4.5.

finally, thanks to whoever it was that suggested that I use the text site
on Amazon. As i'm on dialup, it's so much quicker, and works a treat.

  Jillian.
