OK. I feel like an idiot again *smile* I was trying to apply changes to all
folders from control panel>folder options. Didn't think of looking for folder
options under tools>menus in Windows explorer! All sorted now it appears.
Thanks Tom and Jon for pointing me in the right direction.

Cheers,
Amro

  Hi Amro,

May be once you've changed the folder, go to folder options and apply this
folder view to all folders?

Should do it to see, but, 4 am!

  Tom

Yea Tom, great isn't it? I've a question about details though to you or
anyone else can help please. I can't seem to figure how to make the change of
details that show up universally across all folders. I can change the details
to appear alright but I have to do it to each folder in My Documents
individually. Any thoughts? My system is an XP Pro.

  Cheers,
  Amro

The more I look at this, the better it is. Like amro, long time jaws user,
but, didn't know this one.

Main thing is you can change the details that show up, arrow down view
menue till you get to this.

    Tom

Hi Tom. Am not 100% sure what you're asking. But I think you mean:
"When positioned on a file in the file list in Explorer, how can you read
the individual columns of information"?

If using Windows XP, you can press Ctrl+JAWS together with any of the
numbers 1 to 0 to hear information for columns 1 to 10. This only works in the
type of control called a listview. It doesn't work in Explorer in Windows 7,
where for some reason, Microsoft no longer use a listview to display the list
of files.

JAWS also has a feature for customising listviews. Full details can be
found in Help.

In addition, Windows itself allows you to choose which collumns are shown
for a given listview. From memory, you get to this dialog by selecting Choose
Columns on the View menu.

    Cheers.

    John
