Hi Angela Daniel hear. Another sergestion that I don't think has been mentioned yet if so, then sorry for repeating it is to turn on the "tool tips" check box in Jaws. This then will after every file that you come across jaws will mention the name of the file, date, and eventually the "file size" I thought I'd add this because it does it in a more automatic way I find.

I hope this is of some use to you.
Thanks
Daniel

Hi Tom. Am not 100% sure what you're asking. But I think you mean:
"When positioned on a file in the file list in Explorer, how can you read the individual columns of information"?

If using Windows XP, you can press Ctrl+JAWS together with any of the numbers 1 to 0 to hear information for columns 1 to 10. This only works in the type of control called a listview. It doesn't work in Explorer in Windows 7, where for some reason, Microsoft no longer use a listview to display the list of files.

JAWS also has a feature for customising listviews. Full details can be found in Help.

In addition, Windows itself allows you to choose which collumns are shown for a given listview. From memory, you get to this dialog by selecting Choose Columns on the View menu.

Cheers.

John
