Hi Ian and all,
One method I read of recently is to have a command key and for any short cut you want you just hold down the command key and type the name of the short cut using natural language.
E.G. hold down the command key and type date, and as if by magic the date appears.

That said there will probably be some occasions when you need short cut keys or when they will be quicker, like the change or change all command in a spell checker rather than tabbing to the button or typing change all with the command key held down.

Take care,
Mr. Ben
It's not what Operating system you use, it's how productive you are with it.

The four keys are INSERT+CTRL+SHFT+F1. It's not too bad really unless you
have only one free hand.

That is a really handy key combination for the date. I also think it's pretty easy to use: I just slide my left thumb over from the space bar to the alt and type a capital d.

What are the four keys used in the first example, please?

Hi Ian

An interesting question. It's not only the four key ones that are
contortionist. I find some of the three key ones pretty finger-twisting.
The one I've been using recently is the MS Word one for insert the date,
shift+alt+D. it's just that none of the keys fall into ergonomic simplicity
and I have to hold down alt+D with the left hand, which isn't usual, and the
shift with the right. Once you get used to it, it becomes easier but it
takes some practice.

I reckin we're running out of permutations. It would be interesting to hear
whether anyone had any ideas about how we might find other ways of executing
commands other than hotkeys. The old Frank Audiodata used to have a
dedicated keypad wich could be programmed and you could do a lot more than
you can these days without worrying about conflicting with other MS
commands.

Regards ... Scott

Hello,
I have had cause in recent days to use the four-key combination to examine
the advanced features of webpage elements and it caused me to wonder if
anyone would like to suggest what they think the most unreachable JAWS key
combination might be. There is no doubt that Freedom Scientific encourage us
to go in for a high degree of manual contortionism.
