HI Pranav,
You are so helpful, pal, if you were here, you'd get a dinner, on me!
Thanks a bunch, I'll try all of that.

  Hi Harry,

The thing is that you can use speakers when you use J-Say. The synthesizer
will not interfear with Dragon. In terms of steps, I do not have windows XP
  but here goes.
  1. Plugin the head set and launch dragon.

  2. Go to the windows control pannel and set your default audio device to be
your internal sound card. Exit the sounds applet and then the windows
  control pannel.

  3. say "jaws menu" to activate the jaws menu and go to the sound cards
option in the utilities submenu. Set jaws to work with the internal sound
  card.

You are now good to go. You will hear your synthesizer through your speakers
and will be able to dictate through the microphone.

You need not unplug the headset at all. Leave your infrastructure the way it
  is.

  Pranav

  Hi Pranav,
Ok, so, then, what do I do when I'm done using j-say and I want to go back
to my speakers on my desk?
Walk me through step by step, ok?
I just wanted to use it for email and word processing, at the moment.
Later on, if I need to, if my hands don't work any more because of a stroke,
then, I'll use j-say full time.

  Harry,

Do not unplug the headset with dragon launched. I suspect dragon is
expecting the headset to be present and the sudden change in the
  sound
  source confuses things.

  Hi all,
  well, this is the latest.
When I plug in the USB headset, without Dragon launched, and I
  unplug the
USB headset, the speech is just fine on my speakers. However, if I
  launched
Dragon to use j-say, and I unplug the USB headset, I get no speech.
So, what do you all think about that one?
  Harry
