This formatter worked for me with a 500GB Seagate drive, with external power. I use it regularly to back up this Iyo. A warning, though: for some reason I don't understand DirSync disagrees with Fat32FS, so I use Chris Johnson's update of David Pilling's SyncDiscs to do this backup.
