A lightly magnetised Philips screwdriver is your friend in this situation. No need to dismantle further. Just wipe a magnet along the shaft a couple of times and test for strength on some small screws. Wipe some more for more field strength. Always worth keeping a spare small Philips and a slot type magnetised for these fiddly jobs. Makes reassembly easy too. -Neil F. -----Original Message----- From: iyonix-support-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:iyonix-support-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Lesurf Sent: 25 February 2013 14:59 To: iyonix-support@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [iyonix-support] HD replacement Sorry to ask such a basic/trivial question. But I'm trying to work out the easiest way to remove the HD from an Iyonix! Been years since I've done this so I have forgotten. Having removed the case I can see the screws that hold the HD in the cradle. But without more dis-assembly I can predict that one or two on the 'sheet of metal' side will tinkle down into the guts of the machine when removed or I try replacing them. So I guess I need to be able to do some more steps of dis-assembly before undoing the screws that hold the HD into the HD+CDROM 'cradle'. (Yes, there is a CD Writer above the HD.) --- To alter your preferences or leave the group, visit //www.freelists.org/list/iyonix-support Other info via //www.freelists.org/webpage/iyonix-support List-related queries to iyonix-support-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
