Steve Moffat said... the problem is, in my experience anyhow, that any sites that are blocked appear in the lists somewhere, if not the whole address then part of it. eg. *navigator.com would block everything ending in navigator.com, the fix I am afraid, is to load the xml file into excel 2003 and edit it to your prefs. If you set redirection up to point to a page that describes the deny set then at least you have the starting point of which site to look at. I did that with the same result. Here is an example of a site that cannot be reached after the policies were implemented: www.noirdesir.org Try to access it and it will most probably be denied. I even tried to find substrings of it such as "noir" or "desir" without match in any of the destination sets. Anyway, with "*.sitename.com", ISA shouldn't even look at substrings. Okay, I applied the Banned Ads Site Starter Pack, one of our users can now no longer go to www.georgianavigator.com , when I disable the Site and Content Rule that was created the site is available yet this site in not in the Destination Set. My question is what is the best way to troubleshoot this so I can determine which site in the destination set is preventing access?? I had the same problem with several sites involving either one of the three "packs". I had to disable them all. Since all sites are identified like *sitename.com in the XML files, I tried to modify them all to *.sitename.com. I taught that, maybe, ISA would become confused. No luck there however since after the change, I still can not access sites that are by no means (that I can see) related the the web sites listed in the XML. Like Sean, looking for answers... :-) Fred ______________________________ Frederic Giroux LAN Administrator CyberCap <mailto:fgiroux@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> fgiroux@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx <http://www.cybercap.qc.ca/> http://www.cybercap.qc.ca 33 Prince St. Suite 301 Montreal, Qc H3C 2M7 (514) 861-7700 ext. 303 Fax : (514) 861-7700 ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: fgiroux@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') _____ This E-Mail is confidential.
