MessagePaul, I have one client with over 300 FWclients and if we reboot the
server no refresh is required on fwclient. Not sure what is going on there.
Which means, I am no help at all to you.

sorry
John

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd to have the FW client software
installed on a DC ?? Couldn't that be at least part of the problem ? Most of
my workstations with FW client won't network to didly-squat (real world) if ISA
restarts, until refreshed.

    Hi John

If you believe that it could be a config issue, let me tell you my config:

    - DNS installed on 2 Domain Controllers

    - FW Client installed on both DC's

    - DC's also setup as SNat clients

    - DNS configured to use 2 forwarders provided by my ISP

I can 100% reproduce the problem simply by restarting my Firewall Service,
then my DNS fails on the DC's and I have to restart DNS to resolve the problem.

    Cheers

William, that kind of sounds like a configuration issue. Let me poke around
in mine in the morning and see if I can find anything.

    Hi Tom

I believe that I do have the necessary hotfixes/rollup patches etc
installed. But my main problem is that when my Firewall Service is restarted,
my 2 DNS Servers "lose their connection" and thus have to have DNS restarted
before they are then able to perform lookups etc.

I don't think this is an ISA issue though.

    Cheers

    William R.
