Hello Lorna,
I told them we had two joint accounts in the main branch and they said they couldn't access it with the system, all it would have taken is a short phone call. I've written to the general Manager with my complaint, and asking if there is any training given to the staff concerning customers with disabilities, I'll let you know what kind of answer I get.
Mike

Hi Mike.

I had a similar problem with my branch a while ago. I wanted to open a joint account with my boyfriend. He needed bills and drivers licences and they asked me for my details I produced my passport like you.

I argued that I had already got an account with them and that all details were on file from when I applied originally and that should be sufficient enough.

He went on and on about fraud and all of that eventually, he went to his manager and it turned out that I was right.

Don't know if this is of any help to you. But maybe you can explain that you are already a customer of theirs and that all details are already on file. It doesn't matter what branch you go to because everything is checked with your own branch anyway.

Oh, hate telling you this but I don't think you would pass the eye test for a drivers licence. Smile

Jesus, The ignorance of people. When people ask me do I have a drivers licence. I feel like saying "yeah there it is down there and point to my lovely guide dog.

Hello Vippers,

As I approached the door of the Ulster Bank a small branch of the main one in town, armed to the teeth with my Passport, and hanging grimly on to the arm of My present Wife Eileen, I thought this job shouldn't take long, but was I in for a surprise. I wanted my name on an account with my Wife's name on it, and produced my Passport, I also wanted to lodge some money into a
savings account in the main bank in Town which was quickly accomplished.
Had I a billhead with my name and address on it? No!!

But we had two joint accounts in the main bank. but was told, "we can't access that account from here." A phone call would have done the job. Then the manager was called and turning to Eileen asked "Does he have a Drivers licence?

Eileen said " A drivers Licence! I don't think so."

We had been there for it must or it seemed a quarter of an hour and were aware of a line of customers behind us, so we just left, and on the way out she saw the two women in the office having a giggle. Of course it might not have been about their clanger or indeed it might.

I went in next day with a billhead and was told it was 05 and it must be within six months. My question is, Should I apply for a drivers licence?

All the best,

Mike
