Hi Mike

I can go one further, it took us two days to open an account with the Abbey
here up
the North and experienced all the same problems as you and your wife did.

At one stage I was beginning to wonder if I was there at all as they just kept
talking to Joe.

Hello Vippers,

As I approached the door of the Ulster Bank a small branch of the main one
in town, armed to the teeth with my Passport, and hanging grimly on to the
arm of My present Wife Eileen, I thought this job shouldn't take long, but
was I in for a surprise. I wanted my name on an account with my Wife's name
on it, and produced my Passport, I also wanted to lodge some money into a
savings account in the main bank in Town which was quickly accomplished.
Had I a billhead with my name and address on it? No!!

But we had two joint accounts in the main bank. but was told, "we can't
access that account from here." A phone call would have done the job. Then
the manager was called and turning to Eileen asked "Does he have a Drivers
licence?

Eileen said " A drivers Licence! I don't think so."

We had been there for it must or it seemed a quarter of an hour and were
aware of a line of customers behind us, so we just left, and on the way out
she saw the two women in the office having a giggle. Of course it might not
have been about their clanger or indeed it might.

I went in next day with a billhead and was told it was 05 and it must be
within six months. My question is, Should I apply for a drivers licence?

All the best,

Mike
