Hello Vippers,

As I approached the door of the Ulster Bank a small branch of the main one in town, armed to the teeth with my Passport, and hanging grimly on to the arm of My present Wife Eileen, I thought this job shouldn't take long, but was I in for a surprise. I wanted my name on an account with my Wife's name on it, and produced my Passport, I also wanted to lodge some money into a savings account in the main bank in Town which was quickly accomplished. Had I a billhead with my name and address on it? No!!

But we had two joint accounts in the main bank. but was told, "we can't access that account from here." A phone call would have done the job. Then the manager was called and turning to Eileen asked "Does he have a Drivers licence?

Eileen said " A drivers Licence! I don't think so."

We had been there for it must or it seemed a quarter of an hour and were aware of a line of customers behind us, so we just left, and on the way out she saw the two women in the office having a giggle. Of course it might not have been about their clanger or indeed it might.

I went in next day with a billhead and was told it was 05 and it must be within six months. My question is, Should I apply for a drivers licence?

All the best,

Mike
