[Ilugc] using RPM packages in debian

Oh, the joys of RPM hell... Well, the Debian folks don't want to lose a
user either ;-) OP, you can use alien to happily convert rpm to deb files.
apt-get install alien
Then man alien should solve your problem (sorry if somebody already
suggested this).
