[Ilugc] Why does Desktop/Notebook Manufacturers not recommend linux?

Unfortunately this cant be stopped, but yes, if DELL,Compaq etc., are
provided with all the drivers and if GNU/Linux OS pass their End User
Testing (out of the box functionality), they will sure make it available.
Microsoft has a list of Hardwares and Devices which it says that Windows
"XXX" will work and passes this to all OEM Manufacturers. Since GNU/Linux is
not a single body as Microsoft, here you dont have a single body for this.
You may tell Community is there, but the OEM Manufacturers wont look for
answers, they will only get it from you.
The main problem what i feel makes the vendors neglect GNU/Linux is,
1) Lack of drivers
2) GNU Ethics (for example, the Multimedia and other Entertainment issues)
If GNU/Linux can pass these, I am sure, OEM Manufacturers will look into
shipping GNU/Linux with Laptops and Dekstops.
