Why any body buy it from you when your code ( 10,000 lines ) is available
freely.
Treating software as a product and "selling" it, restricts its usage and
tramples on users' freedom. We in the free software community feel that
respecting user freedom and cooperation is more important than making millions
out of "selling" software. We use other means to earn money.
What about the enginners who worked on this ? What about thier efforts ?
Again why would anybody buy it from c1 or c2 ?
How the company will survive ?
The dependency is like this:
We need freely usable software. -> We may need software companies.
It is not like:
We need software companies -> How do we impose restrictions on software to make
this possible.
You are trying to turn the dependency relationship 180 degrees.
If we can produce sufficient free software without these companies then why
worry about them. We in the free software movement have proved that it is
possible to produce a enough free software without having to give up our
freedom...
there is no proper revenue model in open source.
Like I said, it is not a problem until we have lots of free software. And we do
have lots of free software.
