Only if you distribute binaries are you forced to release the corresponding
source code.
You have completely misunderstood my question .
To explain more clearly to you.
Let us a the open source community has built a product which has 20,000 lines
of code.
and now what as a company i do is take this code and add more features /
enhancements.
Now it becomes 30,000 lines of code.
I have invested some $36,000 for this.
what happens now is i need to release the 10,000 lines of code to the community
which is a waste of my efforts.
Rather i will build the product from scratch instead of taking from open source.
People say you can develop it as a module ( in case of kernel mode ) and as a
library incase of user mode.
Have these been proved anywhere.
Has Linus torvalds who the copyright owner of linux has comments on this ?
it totally depens on him ( an individual ) and he is to decide on this.
