True... This point is accepted and i have capture in my document.
This has to be set right.
For example once you buy a product, the upgrades should be charged less or
even can be given free if there are no major changes.
Giving it free and that too the source code is not a solution.
Still you have to maintain, fix bugs add enhancements right ?
I don't understand what u r trying to say.
Talking about the IT industry, revenue can be logically made from
services not by selling zeroes and ones, which of course you don't
own.
As per my survey, Revenue model from services has not worked out.
Give a an example of such a success.....
Unlike the IT industry, usually the seller will incur a cost for
each and every product he sells .. the buyer will have to pay
something back bcoz he gets the product. Now thinking in terms of
software is a little bit of crazy in the sellers' side. Making a
software involves just the man hours, no raw materials. If a company
is about to make revenue by selling software it only cares about the
revenue, not the software quality or knowledge giving because it's
only the free software model where one get all such benefits. That
said, I guess the only reasonal method of making revenue in IT
industry is through services--you need to work for what you get. You
should agree that it is only in IT companies employees have little
stress of their work--painless job but attractive salary.
.. and revenue can be also made by writing software (consulting)
that are needed specifically for individuals or businessess.
