2. Suppose if the existing contents can continue with CC-BY-SA, then,
can
the new contents come under CC-BY-NC-SA ?
New contents will be under CC-BY-NC-SA.
The previous CC-BY-SA license credits NPTEL as the original author
(through attribution), so NPTEL have every right to stop distributing
its work under CC-BY-SA and start distributing its work under CC-BY-NC-
SA.
The previous, refers to the period from 2003 to March 20, 2020 under which
all the contents are licensed under CC-BY-SA.
The new CC-BY-NC-SA license will have any effect only after this date.
But this has not been mentioned clearly in their website. So if anyone who
reads the license information might think that the whole NPTEL project is
now under CC-BY-NC-SA. This is the problematic thing now.
When the license is changed, the above point should be taken note in
clarifying the change of license and also its period.
