To my knowledge, NPTL is basically stopped distributing their work
under CC-BY-SA and started distributing their work under new CC-BY-NC-
SA.

1. Will the contents already published by them remain under CC-BY-SA
or
will it come under CC-BY-NC-SA ?

CC-BY-SA

2. Suppose if the existing contents can continue with CC-BY-SA, then,
can
the new contents come under CC-BY-NC-SA ?

New contents will be under CC-BY-NC-SA.

The previous CC-BY-SA license credits NPTEL as the original author
(through attribution), so NPTEL have every right to stop distributing
its work under CC-BY-SA and start distributing its work under CC-BY-NC-
SA.

Thanks,
Mohan R
