Using 16.0 on XP and while the routing is stable and open GL offers some nice new ways to view things, the dynamic shapes seem "wimpier." The new icons take some getting used to as does Constraint Manager. However, we do a lot of RF design with curved lines, and dynamic shapes, once applied, tend to crash quite often when shoving traces or making minor modifications to clean up a design... I have seen "ERROR IN DESIGN POINTER TO MEMORY HOLE INVALID Error cannot be fixed" far too many times for my taste. Perhaps 16.01 is more stable. ________________________________ From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Crittenden, Mike Sent: Friday, January 25, 2008 7:14 AM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Allegro 16.01 question How many have upgraded to 16.01 using windows vista or XP and are happy with the performance and stability of allegro? We are still using 15.7 but a number of our engineers are getting new pc's with the vista os. We never upgraded to 16.0 because of all of the problems I heard about but we know have enough engineers with vista machines that we are going to have to make the jump soon. Just curious. Thanks!
