Then untick the "Smart quotes" option in the "Editing options" tab. EasiWriter's smart quotes feature is less extensive than that of other programs (e.g., Impression, OvationPro or ArtWorks). It only replaces single quotes you enter by sexed apostrophes and gives easy shortcuts to enter the other sexed quotes. So, unless you have deliberately chosen to enter any other sexed quotes, you should only find the closing sexed single quote (the apostrophe) in your file. > 2) How can I change all existing 'sexed' quotes, and apostrophes, into > neutral quotes or apostrophes. This is easy using the ordinary search and replace mechanism. Please note that while "Smart quotes" is on, they affect keyboard input into the search and replace dialogue box, too, so you cannot easily enter the unsexed quote to replace with. Once you have switched "Smart quotes" off you can enter the smart quote to search for using a character picker like !Chars.
