There is version 1.0.5 of VLC for Haiku in development but it requires SIGINFO 
which is not currently implemented:

The Qt interface comes up mostly OK but only the first frame is displayed.

Thats a haiku-native VLC that will play DVDs under Haiku. Doesn't play Blu-Ray 
or Windows games though!
