Haiku puts the syslog to /var/log/syslog. If that's full it will move 
it to /var/log/syslog.old (and overwrite the one already there, if 
any).
A "listdev" is usually already very helpful, as would be "listimage 1", 
or "modules" in the kernel debugger.

You should be able to mount BFS partitions read-only from Linux (file 
system name "befs"), too, if that helps.
